Who has not found the heaven below
Will fail of it above.
God's residence is next to mine,
His furniture is love.

MAUSER ISLAND — Chesuncook Lake shimmered beckoningly in the late afternoon sunlight. The water was warm, the canoes empty, the waves slight and the campground pristine as eight black and Hispanic teenagers from New York City sat in a circle on Thursday discussing ... transcendentalism.

Amid the glory of a Maine summer day, how much meaning could inner-city high-schoolers glean from an early 19th century literary movement that found keys to spirituality within man’s relationship to nature?

A Word from the Top - Spring is Finally Here!

Today in Caratunk, it is just a tad over 80 degrees. Seems funny with 2 feet of snow still on the ground, but we'll take the great weather. After a long and deep winter, we are getting ready to open up in just 3 short weeks. With the snow pack still on the ground, we are going to have a great season with awesome water levels.

Dead River

We still have a few spots available for our Dead River High Water Releases, scheduled for May 12, May 27, and June 2 and 9. This looks to be one of the best spring runs we've seen in a long time. Don't miss the boat!!

Secret Saturdays on the Kennebec River

One of the best things about Adventure Bound is that we don't inflate our prices on the weekends, meaning you, your youth group, scout troop, rec department, summer camp and family can raft the Kennebec River on Saturday and Sunday for the same midweek price. Yes, even in July and August!! Combine any or all of our other adventures to get the lead out of your system after a long, cold winter.

Family Trips

Kids, looking for a cool vacation idea to take your folks on? Imagine Mom on our Holy Cow Swing, or Dad crashing through Big Mama and the Three Sisters, how about challenging your brother or sister to a race up our climbing wall!! Just check out our family page for some cool vacation ideas that they are sure to enjoy.

Past Trips

If any of you have any photos of your previous stays with us, I'd love to see them posted here. Go ahead and send them in, we'll take some of the best ones and post them on our new 'Wish You Were Here Board' in the main lodge. You never know, we might even use them in our brochure next year. You'd be famous instantly.

Enjoy the great weather, make sure to give us a call, and we hope to get you on the river soon. I know I'm looking forward to opening day!!

Hooray for Spring!!!!! See ya soon.

Hey Scouts! Earn your Canoeing Merit Badge!

3 Day Moose River Bow Canoe Trip

This year we will be offering up a new adventure, a 3-day canoe trip on the Moose River. Starting at the true source of the Kennebec River, this is an easy to moderate 3-day Class I and II canoe trip in the beautiful Upper Moose River Valley. This meandering river with several playful rapids is a nice opportunity to get back in the woods and see some of the hidden and historical treasures of our area while earning the Canoe Merit Badge. Opportunities for fishing, hiking and wildlife watching are also available on this trip.

Combine this with our Kennebec River trip and earn both a Canoe and Whitewater Merit Badge. Call for further details and trip options.
